John Armstrong
John Armstrong is a writer and philosopher living in Melbourne. His books include Love, Life, Goethe: How to Be Happy in an Imperfect World (Penguin, 2006), and, most recently, In Search of Civilization: Remaking a Tarnished Idea (Penguin, 2009). He currently holds the position of senior advisor in the office of the vice chancellor at the University of Melbourne.
